It's funny, I painted this years before we'd see Hugh Jackman in Deadpool and Wolverine as Wolverine in Age of Apocalypse. That was fun to see.
Anyway, back to the painting, the background was the most challenging. I knew I wanted to put some references to Magneto and Apocalypse so I put their capes there. Lots of cloth!
And around Logan are the skeletons of buildings and the skeletons of people and mutants. Lots of details!
I really enjoyed the challenge of this painting. I think I got pretty ambitious with this one and tried a few things that I had to push myself to do.
